Did you know that Latinas are paid just 52 cents, on average, for every $1 a white man is paid, resulting in lost pay amounting to over 1 million dollars throughout a 40-year career?
Join forces with #WeAllGrow Latina, Justice for Migrant Women, and Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) for the #LatinaEqualPay Campaign and demand change with the 2023 #LatinaEqualPay shirt for us to make some noise this October 5th.
It’s that time of year again when it is brought to our attention the approximate number of additional days Latinas must work into the new year to earn what white, non-Hispanic men earned the year before. We’re talking about Latina Equal Pay Day (LEPD), which falls this year on October 5, 2023.
As a Latina-driven company, this feels personal. Implementing systemic change requires a collective effort to hold each other accountable and choose integrity over comfort. With this in mind, we’ve joined forces with Justice for Migrant Women, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), and Karla & Co. to amplify the #LatinaEqualPay campaign by creating the ¡Págame! shirt for you to rally with us as leaders and allies across the country to lift up Latina leadership!
How does it work?
Purchase the 2023 #LatinaEqualPay shirt, that we created in partnership with Karla and Co., and post a photo wearing it on October 5th to push for solutions to close the wage gap. Don’t miss using the hashtag #LatinaEqualPay and tagging our partners. We’ve created an easy to use social toolkit for you to get involved here.
This eye-catching graphic tee not only ignites conversation wherever you go, but it also supports efforts being made to close the pay gap. Proceeds of the online sales of the 2023 ¡PÁGAME! T-shirt will help support the national campaign and will be sent to Justice for Migrant Women, a 501(c)3 organization, which organizes alongside migrant women workers to advance and protect their civil and human rights.
Shout out to all of the campaign partners, including Equal Rights Advocates, Mamás con Poder, MANA: A National Latina Organization, Poderistas, The Latinx House, and many more. Together, we are working to close the pay gap.
“We deserve the choice to make more, and create more, so future generations continue to be motivated by the abundance of opportunities that can exist,” said #WeAllGrow Latina Co-CEO Vanessa Santos.
“Latina Equal Pay is a human issue. When Latinas thrive, we all thrive. When Latinas make more money, economies thrive.”
