Under the Palm Desert sun, our amigas were pampered with some self-care at POND’s and Caress’ scent-sational oasis, allowing us to enjoy a getaway from the getaway at our ‘sanctuary of joy.’
When we began brainstorming for our 2022 Summit, we wanted to be 100% intentional about making it the ‘sanctuary of joy’ we envisioned from day one. So, we ensured that every element tied to our summit embodied that spirit. Our partners POND’s and Caress understood the assignment and gave some of our amigas a beautiful spa-like oasis in Palm Desert, with the understanding that moments of self-care have been shown to spark creativity and drive a sense of empowerment for WOC small business owners.
Our amigas embarked on a short bus trip to the beautiful Emerson Estate, where they were immediately greeted with refreshing drinks inspired by creativity-boosting ingredients as they entered the Caress x POND’S oasis. Pampering was not scarce at this escape – with pedicures, manicures, and some glam makeup applications using beauty favorites beloved by generations of Latina women. It was the perfect way to kick off a weekend at #WeAllGrow Summit.
During the pedicure and manicure treatments, the Caress Jasmine and Lavender Oil Body Wash gave our amigas a multisensorial experience that immersed the senses to help inspire their next big idea – so being at the estate not only felt great, but it also smelled great! In addition, our amigas learned about the recent work Caress has accomplished in partnership with IFundWomen of Color – the go-to funding resource for diverse entrepreneurs – and the brand’s mission of supporting, funding, and elevating women of color entrepreneurs and their small businesses. As the founding partner of IFundWomen of Color, Caress has invested over $1.75M in women of color entrepreneurs over the past three years with grants, mentorship, and 1:1 coaching to ensure that no good shower idea goes down the drain!
With the Palm Desert heat, it was essential to keep our skin hydrated, moisturized, and primed for the perfect makeup look all weekend. Luckily, POND’s Dry Skin Cream Facial Moisturizer and Cold Cream Cleanser had all we needed to ensure our skin had the best moisturizing base before makeup application and the gentle yet effective post-makeup cleanser to keep our skin glowing after a long day of fun. Our amigas were reminded of the abuelita-approved brand and the iconic blue and green caps that have been in the beauty cabinets of Latine women and femmes for over 150 years.
