Zoila Darton is a Native New Yorker living & hustling in LA. She is a born connector and believes fostering community creatively will save the world. Zoila has worn many (very stylish) hats, developing a well rounded skill set in industries from fashion to philanthropy to music & entertainment.
Before moving to LA, Zoila was the Creative Marketing Director for Billboard winning, NYC indie powerhouse publisher, Mayimba Music for 8 years where she ran marketing and PR for the brand & it’s client roster. While at Mayimba, Zoila took pride in creating meaningful relationships with media, brands & the people behind them. Some of her favorite partnerships have included: SXSW, Jack Daniels, NBC Universal, VIBE Magazine, The Lower Eastside Girls Club of NYC, The Office of the Mayor of NYC, Shea Moisture & SoFar Sounds.
As the Head Dot Connector of WORD Creative, Zoila aims to empower people & brands making the world a better place. She places a heavy emphasis on supporting women of color and their businesses. Last year, WORD raised over 7K for Planned Parenthood through the sale of "The Creator Shirt," which says WOMAN in 9 languages.
Zoila's role model is her mother and she is passionate about fostering community, the arts, equality, self care and her newest & greatest project, her son, Dakota.
