Yarel Ramos is anchor of the newly added mid-day digital show Edición Digital California (Digital Edition California) of Univision.
Ms. Ramos is a native of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. She holds education as a priority and a tool to empower one’s self; she also is self-professed “nerd.” The duality of her identity being both a first-generation Mexican-American and a true Angelena have defined a powerful emerging consciousness making her the quintessential example of what it means to be a Latino millennial.
Ms. Ramos was honored by the Hispanic Women’s Corporation with their National HWC Youth Leadership Award, commemorating her support of the community and her culture. She is an active board member of Corazón de Vida (Heart of Life), a non-profit volunteer organization that provides support for the homeless and abandoned children of Baja, Mexico. She is a co-founder of RAYO (repartiendo amor y oportunidades) a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles whose main goal is to provide resources and tools for Latino students to reach higher education.
Ms. Ramos attended the University of Miami and later attended the University of Southern California where she received her Bachelor’s in Journalism. She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree at the University of Southern California.
