Danielle Alvarez, founder of The Bonita Project, grew up in the vibrant, eclectic city of Miami where she was surrounded by a diverse community and learned how to acclimate to each culture.
After graduating from the University of Florida, Danielle moved to New York City determined to make her mark at a PR firm. She landed at a top PR company where she hooked up with a variety of mass and prestige beauty and lifestyle brands. It’s also where Danielle helped set up an entire division focused on multicultural media and influencers throughout the U.S. She built her network from scratch, linking big brands with content creators of color who weren’t being catered to at a time when bloggers and influencers were on the rise.
Danielle’s work resonated with her beyond just being a publicist. She developed a true passion for educating brands and sought to become a resource that companies could tap to reach the cross-cultural consumer. Danielle launched The Bonita Project (yes, inspired by the J. Balvin hit) to highlight the beauty and value of women of all backgrounds. It’s where she continues to bridge the gap between general and multicultural markets to build buzz for her brands using a detailed, cross-cultural, and creative approach for every client.
