2016

Welcome Camila Alves and Agatha Achindu to #WeAllGrowFAMILIA!

yummyspoonfuls

Our #WeAllGrowFAMILIA attendees are in for a huge treat. Camila Alves and Agatha Achindu, co-founders of Yummy Spoonfuls, are joining us for a keynote conversation at our event on October 22nd at the Munchkin headquarters!

Yummy Spoonfuls, a frozen organic baby and toddler food made from farm-fresh whole ingredients and found in the freezer aisle at Target, was born out of the need of these two entrepreneurial moms to find the freshest, tastiest, most nutritious foods for their children -- just like the ones they grew up eating in their home countries of Brazil and Cameroon.

Both immigrants to the U.S., they longed for the fresh foods they grew up eating from either their own farms, backyards or local farmer's markets. Camila was born into a family of farmers in Brazil and Agatha ate only the freshest organic foods from her family's garden and local markets.

We're excited to hear more about how their connections to their countries of heritage and culture has impacted their vision for Yummy Spoonfuls. #WeAllGrowFAMILIA attendees will rejoice in this opportunity to be inspired and learn from two moms on a mission. Oh...and we'll get to taste some delicious Yummy Spoonfuls as well!

¡Bienvenidas, Camila y Agatha!

25160194254_a711e2399d_o

As our second annual #WeAllGrow Summit came to an end, the attendees gathered in the Hotel Maya's Lagunita Pavilion one last time to listen to the much anticipated Storytellers, presented by YouTube. This year the submissions for this event had surpassed our expectations. From over eighty submissions, six storytellers were selected as finalists to present their own unique story and voice to our diverse community.

Our storytellers touched everyone in the room from laughs to tears of emotion, We could not have been more proud.

Kathy Cano-Murillo of Crafty Chica

25160315314_0816e554aa_o
25160315314_0816e554aa_o

Our host and moderator, Kathy Cano-Murillo of Crafty Chica shared a story about the time her youngest daughter fell in love for the first time and how she quickly became a helicopter mom. Being the ultimate bohemian couple with her husband, she tried to stay optimistic while her husband knew her daughter’s new boyfriend was oncoming traffic.

While being caught in the middle between her husband and daughter for the first time, Kathy knew she wanted what was best for her daughter but still wanted to respect her and her relationship. She concluded by sharing how it’s a learning process when dealing with your children’s love life and reminded us all to always to stay connected with your child.

Gabby Natale of Super Latina

25164168583_b8358252ab_o
25164168583_b8358252ab_o

Gaby Natale of SuperLatina took the stage to share the story of when she was a recent graduate in search of her dream job. Life did not turn our as planned. In 2001, she found herself unemployed. She did not allow that situation to defeat her. She worked that much harder to land a position that would eventually skyrocket her into the super Latina she is today.

During her story, she shared these words from mom with attendees, "Always bring your A-game because you never know when opportunity will come knocking at your door!" Gaby also never takes an opportunity for granted because she knows what it's like to not have any and she encouraged us all to take that approach in life as well.

Showing that women are warriors, she concluded by saying, "Don't play it safe. It could be the riskiest move ever."

Denise Cortes of Pear Mama

25164155793_413630c661_o
25164155793_413630c661_o

Next to take the stage, Denise Cortes of Pear Mama shared the story of when her parenting as a mother came into a full circle. Her story recalls a tense night between her and her husband as they discussed the state of their marriage.

Later that night she was comforted by her first son Noah. “That’s where I felt my parenting came full circle, it was no longer mother and child. I let that pretense down and let my son see me at my weakest point”, Denise recalled. Her story taught us that when we let our guard down as parents, all the love and care that we instill into our children as parents is given back to us in times when we need it most.

Eliana Tardio

25490072490_d6382e6667_o
25490072490_d6382e6667_o

Eliana Tardio took the #WeAllGrow stage and discussed the importance of taking care of children with special needs. She described the heartbreaking first time she heard and felt a prejudice towards her special needs son. After that, she vowed to be one of the voices to make sure something like that never happened again to another child.

She encouraged parents to be the ones to stand up for their children and be their biggest cheerleaders. But the greatest lesson she passed on to us? Her children taught her that people who love you will accept you as you are, which is something we all need to remind ourselves!

Nancy Salas of Simply Nancy

25490048450_5692252027_o
25490048450_5692252027_o

Next to take the stage was Youtuber Nancy Salas, who shared an emotional childhood story of the time her mother suffered from a terrible stroke and became paralyzed. Through this life changing event at the age of nine, she felt unprepared growing up, as she was sheltered from seeing her mother in this condition. Through this troubling time as a child, she felt she lost her childhood and her family.

Through time she learned how to heal herself inside and bring about this inner peace that was broken for so long.  The lesson she ultimately learned from this tragedy was to prepare your children for the world and the unexpected, embrace your inner child, give love where it is needed and let the pain from the past drive you.

Yvonne Condes of Yvonne in LA

25764650286_62c68da087_o
25764650286_62c68da087_o

Storytellers continued with Yvonne Condes of Moms LA, who discussed how important it is for Latino children to feel good in their skin. She wanted her sons to understand their Mexican heritage but also to not feel like they didn't belong because of it - something that Yvonne has personally experienced.

She never wanted her sons to feel like they were too Latino or not Latino enough but rather that their Mexican identity is something to be embraced and celebrated. She concluded by saying, "Whatever my boys say about me someday, I hope they say it lovingly and I hope they say it in Spanish!"

Marines Duarte of En Tus Zapatos

25160242494_a816392fc4_o
25160242494_a816392fc4_o

Lastly, Marinés Duarte of En Tus Zapatos Blog shared the story of when she was a little girl with big dreams of moving to the U.S. to study and play tennis. She faced many obstacles before her dreams came true but she did not let those hurdles keep her from achieving what she wanted.

She practiced tennis day and night, every afternoon and weekend in hopes of gaining a sports scholarship. All her hard work paid off. By the age of sixteen, she was ranked top ten in the nation. And year later, she was in the U.S. ready to play tennis.

Her excitement for what she had anticipated for so long quickly diminished, as she found herself not fitting with her new team. While her coach made her time miserable, she kept focused and determined to make it to the national championships. Eventually she did just that for four years in a row. Marinés continues to still hold the school's record till this day .

She concluded our #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 with one key message that we could not agree more with, “Latinas are the perfect combination between a warrior and a princess.”

Through all of our diverse stories and backgrounds our voices as Latinas come together because when one grows, we all grow.

2016 #WeAllGrow Summit Video: Moments of Awe

400 Latina bloggers, creators and industry professionals came together at Hotel Maya in Long Beach, CA for three days of sisterhood, growth, learning, storytelling and unforgettable moments of awe.

#WeAllGrow Summit has become more than a conference. It's a community experience of transformation and manifestations of our higher selves that leaves an undeniable imprint of the beautiful stories of the Latina community.

Our 2016 video, directed by Andrea Franco (Nuhr Studio), lovingly and vividly captures the energy of sisterhood that is generated when we create from deep within us with the only intention to have our stories shared and our voices heard. The result has been quite magical to the point that now, only in its second year, #WeAllGrow Summit stands on a class all of its own.

Thank you for co-creating this with us and for believing in your self, your passion, your dreams, your calling and this community of unique mujeres.

#WeAllGrow Summit 2016 Breakout Sessions: Day Two Recap

25641841161_e06552aca9_o
25641841161_e06552aca9_o

We started off day two of #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 on Saturday, March 5th with breakfast in bed from Aguacates Frescos. It was just what we needed after a first day of awe-inspiring moments and growth with our fellow Latina digital creators.

The second day of breakout sessions began promptly at 11 a.m. and featured another group of incredible influencers who shared their advice with us, like practical tips on collaborating for growth, a blog design that speaks your language and how to grow your blog views to 1 million. They included:

#WeAllGrow Summit
#WeAllGrow Summit

Each and every woman that spoke shared their journey and showered us with their knowledge about how to build our female brand larger to all #WeAllGrow Summit attendees. Here are just some of the lessons we learned:

  • From Blog Design con Voz we learned that when creating a logo it's important to look at brands from the same industry as you to draw inspiration from. Additionally, make sure to focus on a key message so your logo matches!
  • Enid Hwang taught us that 2/3 of what people pin on Pinterest is from professional content creators so make sure your content is up to par.
  • The Killer Content Cycle sessions taught us to not use more than two fonts on one blog post. According to Laura Fuentes, definitely combine two fonts for a more unique look and vary them in sizes.
  • Beyond the Inner Circle taught us that the key to networking is making genuine connections and swapping information digital is so impersonal. Go for a business card because it's the first impression people get of your brand!
  • Maura Wall Hernandez taught us that Google Analytics is like a puzzle. It's not enough to just look at your data - you need to investigate your content and really think about why something is or isn't happening. That's when the magic happens!

After a Suite Snack + Connect networking break, we were back at 12:15 p.m. with more sessions. They included:

#WeAllGrow Summit
#WeAllGrow Summit

While it's impossible to list every single lesson we learned (and trust us - there's a lot!) we rounded up some of the best:

  • Alana Marie told us to not get lost in trends; they come and go. The key for your blog is finding your own voice and staying true to yourself. Being authentic resonates with readers.
  • If you truly wish to connect with people from all walks of life, then you have to live stream! It's something that is happen in every country, in every culture and in every language. It's a great place for international networking and interactive engagement.
  • From MiTu - if you have a global reach be aware of your long term rights. It's absolutely vital to understand long term value and royalties.
  • Yoly Mason advised us to utilize that all-important A/B testing on your email marketing. Use different language, test it out on your audience and find out what makes them interact the most!
  • It's important to remember small key points when doing pitches Kika Rocha said, as well as understanding your personal voice and strength. That will help your case when talking with possible brands.
#WeAllGrow Summit

Our day continued with the absolutely delicious keynote lunch, which was presented by Disney Parks and last round of sessions began at 3:15 p.m. Don't worry - they did not disappoint:

#WeAllGrow Summit
#WeAllGrow Summit

We continued to expand our knowledge throughout these last few sessions and here are some takeaways:

  • #LatinasUnidas believes in having a united group that treats one another with respect and is empowered to grow together. We love this message and how much it aligns with #WeAllGrow!
  • If you're looking to work with brands on Snapchat, Alexys Gabrielle told us to screenshot how many times your story was viewed and show that data to the company. Awesome tip!
  • Share what you know because it allows not only personal growth but audience growth as well. When one grows, we all grow, right!?

When looking back at all the industry professionals and lessons they taught us, it's rather impossible to not feel a sense of inspiration to amp up our personal brands. Experts helped give confidence and reassurance on important topics for all bloggers, like personal growth, how to market content on social media and be an influencer. Reflecting on everything that happened at #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 fills us with such a sense of pride and love for all those that attended. It was a truly magical conference filled with moments of awe, personal growth and networking with prominent Latina creators and bloggers!

What was one lesson you learned from Day 2 of sessions? Let us know on social using #WeAllGrow!

If you're anything like us, you're probably going through major #WeAllGrow withdrawal! Those three days in Long Beach were truly magical for all of us. One of the parts that made #WeAllGrow so special was all the amazing breakout sessions! It all began at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 4th with four breakout sessions for the lovely #WeAllGrow attendees:

PicMonkey Collage
PicMonkey Collage

While there was so much great advice passed down from our expert speakers, we're rounding up a few of our favorite takeaways:

  • Inspired from An Inside Look Into the World of Food Content Creators: If you're looking to start a blog don't wait until you're "ready." Because chances are you're never going to be ready and that's okay! It's important just to start.
  • Also from food content creators and recipe developers: If you're going to pursue food photography, half the battle is making sure your pictures are professional and eye catching. Make sure to perfect that skill as much as you can.
  • From Access Your Audience Through Podcasts: Your audience on a podcast is the same as your blog audience, in that they have habits, desires and needs. Make sure you know how they work.
  • A great reminder from the breakout session, Fortune 500 Company Won the Latin GRAMMYS® With Co-Created Content presented by BodenPR: When you want to work with a brand, realize that there's always going to be someone with a bigger following than you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to work with that brand or that you wouldn't be able to do a great job. Always try.

Sessions continued after the empowering keynote lunch with Neutrogena at 2:15 p.m. where another great lineup of breakout sessions was available for all to attend:

In case you missed out on any of the sessions, here are a few of our favorite sound bites:

  • Giving us writing tips from From Blogger to Paid Writer: If you consider yourself a writer and an expert in a certain area, don't be afraid that you'll run out of things to talk about on your blog. You know more than you think you do.
  • Food blogger Oriana Romero (@mommyhoodsdiary) and speaker on El Sabor Food Photography: Easy Tips and Tricks to Define Your Style said, "we don't take pictures, we create them." Keep this in mind when photographing a subject - you're creating an experience for your readers. Make sure it's worth it.
  • From How to Successfully Launch a YouTube Channel: Try to keep your content on YouTube as upbeat as you can, unless you're tackling a serious topic. Many people use YouTube as a way to escape, get information and laugh. Fulfill that for your viewers.
  • The wonderful Enid Hwang, community manager at Pinterest and presenter at Next Level Pinning gave us a lot of good tips to up our Pinterest game, such as the use of keywords! Keywords are absolutely essential to optimizing your content on Pinterest, as opposed to hashtags. Be search friendly and descriptive, be active with new content regularly and pin your own content and inspiration.

Our last round of breakout sessions for #WeAllGrow Summit Day One started at 3:30 p.m. and was packed with informative and inspiring talks, including:

#WeAllGrow Summit Breakout Session speakers continued to give attendees awe-inspiring moments and inspiring tools for growth. Here are just a few things we learned:

  • From The Benefits of Selfless Promotion: Elevating Your Brand Through Social Good: Stories are key because it allows your readers and viewers to really connect with your content. Everyone can relate in some way to a story so it's important to share these experiences.
  • From las amigas de Blogs y Vlogs en Espanol: Dos and Donts en Social Media: There are many pros to being a bilingual blogger, such as: more opportunities, a wider audience to connect with and more changes to work with brands. Like with anything though, there are downsides: Google Analytics is a challenge, it's time consuming and can be expensive. But if you have the chance, do it and don't let any small mistakes stop you.
  • From Por el Amor de Instagram: Marketing Tips to Grow Your Brand on Instagram: The great thing about Instagram is that it doesn't matter what you're wearing or doing, people come to your page because they're interested in you. That's empowering!

#WeAllGrow Summit

With so much expert advice provided to #WeAllGrow attendees, there's no wonder everyone felt inspired and ready to grow! Our favorite part? The continued feeling of sisterhood that was felt not just at the #WeAllGrow breakout sessions, but throughout the entire weekend. Not only was everyone so passionate, ut every single person was willing to share their knowledge in the effort to help their hermanas grow.

We love that about #WeAllGrow and everyone who made that possible!

Did you have a favorite lesson you learned at one of the sessions? Leave it below in the comments! Look out for next week when we discuss Day 2 Sessions!

From informative sessions to meticulous tablescapes, #WeAllGrow Summit has a reputation for leaving no stone unturned when it comes to details. The team along with our sponsors worked diligently to make sure our attendees felt and looked their absolute best during their three-day stay.

#WeAllGrow Summit took over Hotel Maya, literally. From the Pavillion to the Esplanade, guests could get their hair, makeup and nails done as well as enjoy the artwork on display at the Latina Maker’s Market in between sessions. The backdrop of the pier and the beautiful walkways of the hotel created a relaxing and picturesque experience for everyone to enjoy.

When Neutrogena announced #VerasQueEsPosible, they were not kidding. Their suite, which was completely restructured and redesigned for guests, was more like a vacation spa retreat with mimosas, treats and breathtaking views. Celebrity makeup artists Elizabeth Ulloa and Erick Cuesta were on-hand to make sure appointments went smoothly and that everyone’s look was on point. And if that wasn’t enough, attendees also received personal style tips from celebrity stylist Claudia Zuleta of Claudia Fashions, who styled Gaby Espino’s black and white keynote look.

Neutrogena knows very well that no makeup look is complete without photos! Hello? Bloggers, anyone? Without a photo there’s no proof it happened. There was a studio set-up for anyone who wished to get a new headshot, and we must say, everyone looked flawless.

Going beyond products and makeup, the suite encapsulated what #WeAllGrow Summit is about with discussions about skincare with Dermatologist Dr. Bertha Baum and moments of reflection at the #MyIntent station, where bloggers shared their word of inspiration.

And speaking of beauty, can we get an amen on those smoothies everyone was raving about? They were all types of delicious. Aveeno out-did themselves when it came to awakening our tastebuds while making sure we beautify from the inside out. Our personal favorite was the Tummy smoothie with fresh papaya, vanilla yogurt, coconut milk, shredded coconut, raisins, and cinnamon.

Brand Ambassador and lifestyle expert Kika Rocha also stopped by the suite to share her popular #TipsdeKika and new book, which is beautifully illustrated with words of empowerment.

The pampering did not end there. Do you think we can have more than 350 Latinas in one place and not have a suite dedicated hair? And did we mention celebrity hair stylist Mario Anton was there, too? The conference looked like one big hair commercial, we kid you not.

Dove at #weallgrow

Dermatologist Dr. Alicia Barba was also there to discuss skincare, particularly in the area no one really talks about: the underarms! We were very thankful to have had Dove Dry Spray handy as we ran from session to session (with our fabulous hair)!

The suite also included a manicure station and an intimate lounge area made luxurious by plenty of lilies, a stunning white faux fur rug, fragrant soaps and chocolates. Guests left the suite with plenty of selfie opportunities with a backdrop of downtown Long Beach and unbelievably good lighting.

With everyone looking so beautiful, it was only fitting that we have a Narciso Rodriguez Parfums suite to complete their look with a sophisticated scent. When a brand's description uses words such as subtle, grace, classic yet modern ... We know it's a perfect fit for #WeAllGrow attendees!

Style was at the forefront of #WeAllGrow Summit, as Mazda showcased their Mazda CX5 and Mazda MX5 models on the hotel grounds, making it easy for attendees to test out the cars' features as well as learn about ways they could become advocates for the brand!

There's nothing quite like a great manicure. OPI was there to ensure that attendees were polished with their latest New Orleans Collection of Mardi Gras inspired colors. Needless to say, the manicure station was packed, as attendees lined up to choose their favorite colors. Who doesn’t like a glimpse of a pretty nail color while typing on the computer?

#WeAllGrow attendees also know a thing or two about great accessories, which is why Colgate Optic White and celebrity stylist Irma Martinez, who looked stunning in red, dedicated an entire to suite to a great smile and statement necklace! Guests learned how to keep their already beautiful teeth (must be in the genes!) even whiter, and how rocking the right bling will enhance their smile.

For the attendees who dream of being able to send their little one off to a great college one day, ScholarShare was on hand to share that it was doable no matter how small the savings. Guests were given a $50 gift card to open a ScholarShare 529 College Savings Account, which pretty much speaks to the conference’s mantra "When One Grows, We All Grow." That includes a better a life for our families and a good education for our children.

The TurboTax Happy Hour reminded us all that laughter and family is what life is all about. From the massage chair in their suite to s'mores with friends, a good refund should be spent on creating great memories for you and your loved ones.

Planning the conference with our sponsors was such a fun journey, as we envisioned all that could be done to create a memorable experience for our attendees. The attention to detail and energy was everything, and we can’t wait to do it again!

#WeAllGrow Field Trips Inspired Moments of Awe

#WeAllGrow in Long Beach, CA
#WeAllGrow in Long Beach, CA

#WeAllGrow Summit started with several magical Field Trips filled with enough moments of awe to last a lifetime. Dolphins included!

Our sponsors were so excited to meet everyone and connect with the influencers who have been killing it online (Yes, you!). Several of them joined us in organizing an unforgettable day of tours, sightseeing, relaxation and a few mimosas! Because everyone knows you can’t have a fab day without a bit of champagne. #WeAllGrow sponsors also know that the only way to create long-lasting relationships is by illustrating the mission behind their brands with meaningful experiences, which are rooted in empowerment, cultura y familia.

Neutrogena

Select attendees were treated with a cruise to the Catalina Islands for a day of beach-front relaxation, a healthy, beautifying lunch, refreshing mimosas, and yoga under a gorgeous sunlit sky (with SPF, of course!). With scenic views in every corner and a beautiful dolphin sighting to complete the day, Neutrogena’s #VerasQueEsPosible mantra came to life.

Transitions and VisionWorks kept the day stylish with a fun tour of Los Angeles with hosts, celebrity eyewear designers Coco + Breezy! Attendees learned all about the twins’ humble beginnings in the eyewear industry and connected over a delicious vegan Mexican lunch at the popular LA restaurant, Gracias Madre. Coco and Breezy set the tone for the rest of the day as they DJ’d from their phones on the tour bus and danced with attendees as they headed back to the studio for their very own photoshoot with Transitions + VisionWorks. Latina bloggers and creators were treated to a styling session and finished off their look with a chic pair of Transitions lenses from VisionWorks, perfect for their professional street style photoshoot.

Long Beach Conventions and Visitor Bureau

As if the #WeAllGrow Summit and Latina Bloggers Connect teams didn’t suffer enough FOMO (we had meetings in lieu of trips), a group of over 40 attendees got to take in the beautiful sites of our host city, Long Beach. They started the day off with a boat tour that revisited the history of Long Beach’s scenic harbor. They were able to sit back and chat with each other while enjoying a breathtaking view of the city’s skyline and world famous Queen Mary. Shortly after their boat tour they headed to the Museum of Latin American Art located in the East Village Arts District of Long Beach. While there, Latina Bloggers had the opportunity to view MOLAA At Twenty 1996-2016 Exhibition, an extensive collection of U.S. Latino and Chicano art. A short bus ride over next led them to the Aquarium of the Pacific for a delicious lunch with a view and a VIP behind-the-scenes guided tour of the aquarium. Lastly, it wouldn’t have been a true tour of Long Beach without visiting the historic Queen Mary. Attendees wrapped up their daylong tour of Long Beach with a guided tour of the legendary ship.

Disney Parks

Disney Parks celebrated 60 years of magic with #WeAllGrow Summit attendees! Guests explored both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure and enjoyed rides like Star Tours and Radiator Springs Racers. Rides were followed by a beautiful day listening to the Mickey Mouse marching band and #Disneyland60 celebrations throughout the park. The day ended with a group photo of all the bloggers and creators that attended this fabulous field trip.

There’s nothing quite like visiting the YouTube Space in Los Angeles to really bring the power of its influence to life. #LatinaCreators were excited to see and experience the place they’ve virtually known and loved for so long! Guests were once again blown away by the size of YouTube Space LA and the amount of resources available to those who wish to create a channel. Many came back from their trip ready to step up their game by perfecting their SEO, upping their video content and making better use of YouTube’s analytics to further understand their audiences.

#SpeakBeautiful with Dove Keynote Panel at #WeAllGrow Summit 2016

WAG-2016-Dove-Keynote_Approved
WAG-2016-Dove-Keynote_Approved

#WeAllGrow Summit 2016 is proud to partner with Dove to present three moments of awe that will elevate your inner core, provide a bit of self-care and inspire you to speak with beauty and positivism.

The Dove Suite

Dove invites you to visit the Dove Suite, located at the Luna/Solstice Room for a refresher on the latest hair & skincare trends and to meet our beauty experts, renowned hairstylist Mario Anton and boardcertified dermatologist, Dr. Alicia Barba. Stop by for a personalized dry styling session and Beauty Bar manicure to celebrate your unique beauty. Feel free to relax on our outdoor terrace, taking in the gorgeous waterfront views, while enjoying refreshments and having fun with your fellow bloggers in our photobooth. We’re excited for you to join us in supporting #MujerDove, our message of confidence, empowerment and beauty for Latinas.

Crown Yourself in Confidence: Uncovering the Power of Positive Words

Beautiful. Ugly. Smart. Stupid. The power of words can have a significant impact on how we feel about ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world – whether it’s in real life or online. Too often, social media bombards women and girls with negative content that can damage their self-esteem. Dove research shows 8 out of 10 women encounter negative comments on social media that critique women’s looks. With this in mind, Dove set out to overturn the pervasive online negativity and embarked on a partnership with Twitter to encourage women to #SpeakBeautiful and turn ugly tweets into beautiful, positive ones. Launching the campaign on Hollywood’s biggest night when online negativity was at its worst, Dove developed a truly unique campaign that leveraged primary research and insights, advocacy partnerships and deep influencer engagement, setting out to help shape the way future generations express themselves online. Since launch, Dove has continued to reach thousands of women and girls with #SpeakBeautiful, truly making social media a more positive place for all.

During Saturday morning’s keynote, therapist and life-coach, Christine Gutierrez, will explore the journey to finding inner confidence and building self-esteem in various aspects of our lives – from our careers, being mothers, how we feel about our bodies and how we translate our confidence to the world. After the keynote address, Christine will lead a panel featuring Dove Self-Esteem Experts, Dania Peguero and Rosie Molinary, along with influential bloggers, Elayna Fernandez and Carolina Ortiz. Each panelist will provide their perspective on the importance of speaking positively and offering solutions for how we can all ignite positive change online and in the world.

Dove #SpeakBeautiful Workshop

Dove Self-Esteem Educators, Rosie Molinary and Dania Peguero, will lead an inspiring workshop for 50 girls from the local Boys & Girls Club in Long Beach, CA.

The workshop ties to the Dove #SpeakBeautiful campaign that encourages women and girls to realize the role our online words play in impacting our confidence and self-esteem. Dove research shows 8 out of 10 women encounter negative comments on social media that critique women’s looks. Furthermore, women do not realize messages they post are contributing to negative mindsets and behavior about beauty online. Only 9% of women admit to posting negative comments on social media.

How can we help the next generation ignite positive change online? Dove invites #WeAllGrow attendees to join our workshop – to serve as mentors and to interact with girls from our partner organization. To date, Dove has reached 17 million girls globally. We look forward to working with you to impact more lives in our local communities.

In a committed effort to stay ahead of trends and growth opportunities for our community of Latina content creators, #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 is excited to announce the TODAY.com Keynote panel, The Convergence of Influence: How Traditional And New Media Are Connecting To Reach Audiences In Modern Ways. As New Media becomes a viable access point to audiences, come learn how Traditional Media plans to converge the two.

The Convergence of Influence: How Traditional And New Media Are Connecting To Reach Audiences In Modern Ways

The world of digital content has proven itself to be a powerful source of influence. No longer in its infancy, New Media connects with readership in creative, measurable ways and the world has taken notice. Along with advertisers and brands, major media outlets have begun the exciting convergence of influence; blending their traditional media and on-air reach with modern, digital content that accesses their audience at any point, from the comfort of their homes to the palm of their hand.

In this panel of media experts from TODAY.com and NBC Universo, #WeAllGrow attendees will learn the most current strategies and methods to partner with major media companies for both on-air and online exposure. Two of TODAY’s newest online destinations - The TODAY Parenting Team and The TODAY Food Club - will be introduced, showcasing the benefits of capitalizing on national exposure with digital influence.

With new media growing exponentially, digital content creators and traditional media outlets look to converge their influence in order to best serve their audiences in modern, convenient ways.

Be Part of the Hola! USA Art Installation at #WeAllGrow Summit 2016

Hola-ArtInstallation-WAG
Hola-ArtInstallation-WAG

As an opportunity to appreciate the growth and connection we're set to embark on, #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 is proud to announce an exciting experience for attendees:

Hola! USA's Art Installation with artist Carolina Rubio MacWright

Hola! USA’s art installation will be an artist- led collaboration with participation from #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 attendees. Our community of Latina creators will take part in personalizing an origami globe of multiple colors by writing onto them a wish or desire before then blowing life into them, symbolizing our intentions at #WeAllGrow Summit.

The 400 globes will then hang from a gazebo and display the collective dreams and desires of the #WeAllGrow Latina creators community. We will also be displaying an original painting made by the artist, inspired by the Latinas of this year's event. This installation serves as an opportunity for #WeAllGrow attendees to honor their success stories, while accepting the challenge of saying HOLA! USA.

Carolina Rubio MacWright, lead artist of the Hola! USA Installation at #WeAllGrow Summit 2016, was born in Bogotá, Colombia, where she lived until age 20, when a need for a safer place to call home was necessary. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Fine Art. After graduation, she felt the need to understand the legal system, at which point she moved to Oklahoma City where she received her Juris Doctorate Degree. Her time in Oklahoma's legal world, practicing criminal law, civil rights and mostly immigration law opened her eyes to the realities of the broken American criminal and immigration law system. Inspiration that keeps her up at night, making pieces that memorialize these stories. She is currently a full-time activist artist-mom in Brooklyn, NY.

Review the amazing experiences our sponsors have planned just for you, select your favorites and fill out the #WeAllGrow Summit 2016 Field Trips Sign Up Form today! As a reminder, because of extreme capacity restraints, we're asking that attendees rank their desired Field Trip in order from one to five. So be sure to look over each field trip description, the influencer profile where noted and decide your level of interest. All field trips take place on Thursday, March 3rd.

These field trips will fill up fast! Once at capacity, #WeAllGrow Field Trips will be closed with a firm deadline of February 18th. No exceptions can be made. We love that our attendees are adventurous and eager to connect with #WeAllGrow sponsors, but please do send in your requests asap!

As much as we want to be able to have each and every one of you experience these sponsor field trips, we might have more demand than available spaces. Because each sponsor has prepared incredibly unique experiences, there are limited spots for each. Eyes on L.A. Style with Transitions® Lenses and Visionworks

Join Transitions Lenses and Visionworks as they give you a stylist introduction to Los Angeles. The trip for 18 influencers kicks off with a journey to Los Angeles, home to design houses, boutiques and studios where fashion magazines set trends. Your hosts, Latina eyewear designers Coco and Breezy will kick off the day with a storytelling session and Q&A about how they moved to New York City at the tender age of 19 to launch their fashion brand, how they got Prince to wear the much talked about “3rd eye” glasses and what it takes to be a successful designer. If you’ve ever imagined yourself launching your own fashion brand, don’t miss your chance to ask Coco and Breezy advice during the intimate Q&A!

Next we’ll enjoy an outdoor lunch where you’ll receive tips on keeping your eyes healthy and learn about the latest trends in eyewear.

Finally, we’ll head to a fashion photo shoot where you’ll receive tips from a photographer on how to create a look book and take your photos to the next level. To put knowledge into practice, Coco and Breezy will help style and coach you for a photo that will be edited and re-touched. You’ll walk away with a professional photo that will inspire the next step on your journey as a style/fashion influencer.

We'll depart Hotel Maya at 10:00 am and arrive back at 4:00 pm.
