For the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to our #WeAllGrow Summit Top 35. ¿Qué es eso? It’s a special group of blogueras that believed so much in #WeAllGrow Summit, that they jumped on the opportunity to grab a very specially discounted ticket within hours of our announcement. Because of their commitment and passion, we celebrate them now in a series of small, yet passion-filled, interviews. Check them all out here. Meet Miz Liz of BBW Generation. Through her blog Liz shares tips on fashion, beauty, recipes and much more, but most importantly she shares a mission of gaining acceptance and self-love. Find out more about her here!
1.What does the word "Grow" mean to you in your blogging career?
Being in the blogger community at times feels as if living in a deserted island. Between working, being a single mom and spending time doing fashion shoots, editing, writing etc ... I can easily spend days on my laptop before I step out in the world itself. To grow means many things: finding balance, making connections and finding camaraderie so that I don't feel as if I'm alone. We become a unit - a movement - of many things in to one. Well aren't we all here to save the world? *Takes Superwoman Stance*
2.What excites you about growth?
My excitement comes from discovering the limits and pushing them. Be it in my own person and style to those of my readers and community.
3.How can one community grow together?
The growth of a community comes from finding awareness, understanding and acceptance of the many views and representations.
4.How do you proactively help others grow?
I mentor people of all ages that are facing trials in their lives. From the special needs person that wants the world to understand that they take part in the social media world and don't know how to let those that don't know them personally know that they are there to grow with them and develop their own social skills, to the women, men and teens that come to me for the "secret" in finding the confidence they see in my work and images so that they can wear a dress/makeup/suit for the first time. I'm also a Domestic Violence survivor and do public speaking and on line awareness campaigns to help others gain help.
I just can't not do my best to help those in need. I work in an area that is surrounded by homeless people. I collect blankets, shoes, jackets and non perishable food to give out. My car's trunk is filled with these items as well as trail mix and granola bars in my purse to give out.
5. What do you hope to get out of #WeAllGrow Summit?
#WeAllGrow Summit is my first official blogger seminar. I hope to meet like minded individuals that will turn my isolated island into a tangible world where I can be a great resource for other people's work and cause. May it break the roof off my own limitations and take my journey to a whole different level.
