The book club you asked for is live, and we're kicking it off real big with our first selection - the national bestselling novel Fruit of the Drunken Tree by Changemaker Collective member, Ingrid Rojas Contreras.
First, the why: The mission of our book club is to have fun as a community by celebrating Latina authors and centering our stories and ideas.
Our first book club meeting will be virtual - that means everyone's invited - on September 19, 2019, 1 pm EST. Mark your calendars, RSVP info to come.
We will also have an exclusive mid-book conversations with Ingrid right in Changemakers, and we hope you will join us if you haven't already.
Fruit of the Drunken Tree is suspenseful, heartbreaking, with strong female characters that are familiar to anyone with roots in Latin America. We can't wait to chat with Ingrid about the stories behind the novel and how her culture and the immigrant experience influences her creative process.
