Last year’s Year In Review 2013 ended with “We’re excited to see what 2014 will bring,” and we must say we had no idea just how productive and exciting this year was going to be. If we can sum up 2014 in one word it would be growth. The company has grown, the community has soared and the campaigns got better and better.
One of the beauties of being Latina Bloggers Connect is that our collaborations run the gamut when it comes to niches. We’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most amazing beauty and fashion bloggers/vloggers on our long list of beauty brand campaigns this year.
Latina influencers showed off their beautiful rostro limpio with Neutrogena and shared amazing tips for keeping our skin safe from sun up to sun down, clear from acne, smooth from pores and makeup-ready for spring, summer and fall/winter. They even shared the spotlight with men, who also love having healthy skin! And to go along with our flawless and pampered skin, we celebrated the diversity of our gorgeous locks with Pantene and Dove!
We work with some of the most beautiful women online, but we all know that beauty comes from within. Imagine our excitement when L’Oreal Paris asked us to be part of their Women of Worth Twitter Forum! We were honored to join such a powerful and important conversation about empowerment and self-worth along with A-list celebrities such as Eva Longoria and other fabulous blogging networks. It was such a great time, the relationship continued with L’Oreal Paris and we were invited back to collaborate in the launch of their first-ever Latina Destination and join them in celebrating their sponsorship of the Latin GRAMMY with a blog tour, Instagram campaign, Twitter party, live coverage from Las Vegas, YouTube makeup tutorials and more!
Families and mom bloggers we love were also looking and feeling their best with an array of campaigns designed for the little ones like Johnson’s No More Tangles. Looking for a beautiful hairstyle for your daughter? We’ve got you completely covered for every season on YouTube and Pinterest!
Families were also keeping their skin soft with Lubriderm, the boos boos patched up with Johnson’s Healthy Essentials, teeth white and shiny with Crest 3D White along with beauty and entertainment bloggers, and skin protected and refreshed with Degree and Aveeno. Mom, dads and kids were bonding and sharing their stories, but nothing, and we mean nothing, brings families together like dancing and singing, right? The Kimberly Clark Family Unity campaign did just that. Kids had a blast with their parents as they formed mini-bands and sang their hearts out. We also celebrated iconic figures like Cantinflas and tapped into our creative side with the Book of Life as part of our live event programs with Latina Bloggers. But it didn’t end there.
Throughout the year, parents created special moments with their little ones with Read Conmigo, stayed connected with family with the new FOLR app, shopped online with Veo App, created an at-home oasis with Glade and Pier 1 Imports, and joked about their former dating lives with Angel Soft. We even cried our eyes out with Sears and helped to bring cleaner water to communities in Perú with Clorox. And who can forget the the a-dor-able pictures spawned from the Evenflo, Peep and the Big Wide World and Huggies campaigns? The Amigas Huggies shared everything and anything you needed to know for your baby’s arrival. We even had a baby shower! And just in time for flu season, moms were sharing their tips for keeping babies feeling well with Tylenol and how to prevent germs from spreading.
As much as we love to celebrate family relationships, we know that not every family situation is an ideal one. We feel it’s important to use social media to raise awareness about topics not everyone is comfortable talking about. Prime example, domestic abuse. We have been part of the Purple Purse campaign for two years in a row, and it is one of the programs that is near and dear to our hearts and that of Latina and Latino bloggers/vloggers, who have shared their most personal stories with us all.
And last ... but certainly not least! Latina Bloggers tore-it-up in the kitchen in 2014. Do you know how hard it is to look at our screen sometimes? We had no idea how much one can do with Barilla pasta and Hunt’s tomato sauce. And if you wanted cheese, you got it! The Cacique campaign was mouth-watering to say the least. From stews to dips, Latina food bloggers even shared the many ways you can reinvent classic beans with Bush’s Cocina Latina , enhance a rice dish with Kikkoman and create tantalizing dishes featuring the California Sweet Potato. The artistry behind these recipes were simply amazing. But what’s a delicious recipe without a glass of wine like Gallo’s Moscato or a cafecito from McCafe?
If 2015 turns out to be as good as we think it’s going to be, we may not be able to do a Year in Review in one post! In fact, we are kicking off the year BIG with our very first conference the #WeAllGrow Summit 2015 from February 26 to 28 at the LINE Hotel in Los Angeles! Did you see our speaker list yet?
